THE ART

OF

THE ROOM

An Immersive Masterclass in Etiquette, Social Intelligence & Influence

Modern etiquette, refined manners, social intelligence, and the subtle skills that help us move through the world with confidence, grace, and discernment.

Thursday November 5th | 6:00 PM – 10:00 PM
Location: An exclusive setting in downtown Toronto

Some people inherit a map to opportunity.
Others learn to draw their own.

There is an art to entering a room, an art to conversation, and an art to leaving an impression.

Some of the most consequential skills in professional and social life are rarely taught. They are learned through observation, exposure, experience, and sometimes, costly mistakes.

The Art of the Room is an intimate, four-hour masterclass in modern etiquette, refined manners, social intelligence, and the subtle skills that help us move through the world with confidence, grace, and discernment.

Designed for ambitious professionals,

entrepreneurs,

and individuals,

who wish to navigate

unfamiliar social
and professional environments

with greater ease,

understand the nuances of human interaction,

and carry themselves well wherever life takes them.

The Experience

Guests will be welcomed into a luxurious, private setting in the heart of downtown Toronto, where the environment itself becomes part of the education.

Throughout the evening, participants will learn through guided instruction, practical exercises, and real-time, individualized feedback.

From the first introduction to the final farewell, every interaction becomes an opportunity to learn.

You will practise making introductions, engaging in conversation, interacting graciously with hospitality staff, navigating social conventions, reading the room, and understanding the small gestures and unspoken expectations that shape how we experience one another.

You will learn not only what to do, but why it matters, when conventions apply, and how to exercise your own judgement.

Rather than simply hearing about these skills in a classroom, you will experience them in the very environment where they are meant to be applied.

What You Will Learn

01 | The Codes of the Room

Understanding first impressions, social dynamics, formality, hierarchy, and the unwritten expectations of different professional and social environments.

Learn how to recognize the character of a room, adapt to unfamiliar situations, and conduct yourself without feeling the need to become someone else.

02 | The Art of Etiquette

Modern manners, introductions, hospitality etiquette, interactions with service staff, graciousness as a guest or host, appropriate familiarity, discretion, and the thoughtful details that make others feel comfortable and respected.

Learn how to navigate common social situations with consideration, confidence, and ease.

03 | Conversation & Presence

Beginning and sustaining meaningful conversations, listening attentively, making others comfortable, navigating unfamiliar company, entering and exiting conversations gracefully, and expressing yourself with confidence.

Explore how posture, language, attention, timing, and social awareness contribute to the impression you leave.

04 | Sales, Trust & Human Connection

The human foundations of effective sales and professional communication: understanding another person's perspective, communicating your value clearly, recognizing mutual interests, and knowing when to speak, listen, ask, or simply enjoy the conversation.

Learn how to approach professional interactions with sincerity and discernment, without pressure, performance, or an agenda behind every exchange.

Who this is for:

• Ambitious professionals entering unfamiliar social or professional environments.

• Entrepreneurs who want to move through high-stakes rooms with greater fluency.

• Individuals who have read the etiquette books and want to practise, not just study.

• Anyone who understands that social intelligence is a skill, not a personality trait.

Who this is not for:

• Those seeking a lecture or a formal seminar.

• Anyone uncomfortable with active participation in a small group.

• Individuals looking for networking rather than practice.

Meet Your Instructors

Your instructors bring together two distinct perspectives on the social arts: early exposure to distinguished institutions and social traditions, and the professional experience of teaching, hosting, and navigating diverse environments across industries and cultures.

Rumeysa Ayse Mohammed

A serial entrepreneur, researcher, and senior-level government professional with a doctorate from the University of Ottawa.

Educated at one of her home country's most prestigious institutions, she grew up among some of society's most influential circles, gaining early exposure to the customs, traditions, and unspoken expectations of distinguished social environments.

Her experience across academia, entrepreneurship, and public service brings an understanding of institutional cultures, social conventions, and the nuances of navigating different worlds.

Adeline Coulter

An entrepreneur, educator, and human capital adviser specializing in sales, social intelligence, and professional development.

Founder of ARK.how, a human capital advisory, and LUFEMMERA, a private botanical perfumery, her work spans executive development, luxury experiences, education, and hospitality.

A graduate of a founder-focused executive program at the Schulich School of Business, she has taught in formal educational settings and led intensive executive strategy training.

She also hosts an exclusive private members' club and is an active member and contributor to several of Toronto's longstanding institutions. Her international experience and work across professional and private social circles inform her practical approach to etiquette, personal presence, and the social arts.
